INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Individual psychotherapy involves regularly scheduled sessions that are focused on achieving specific co-created treatment goals (e.g., reducing anxiety/depression, increasing relationship satisfaction, etc.). These sessions take place in an atmosphere that is completely confidential, so you will not need to protect your reputation or avoid discussing vulnerable topics (for more information on this, see FAQ). I work within both short and long-term treatment modalities.

I work from an evidence-based theoretical perspective, and I regularly use techniques taken from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My style is not to stay silent during sessions - I actively work with you to get what you want out of therapy.

COUPLES/RELATIONSHIP COUNSELING

Relationships are a beautiful, but difficult, part of life. I work with couples through all stages of development to optimize, deepen, or reclaim your relationship. In couples therapy, I view the relationship itself as the client, and I do whatever I can to deepen and enrich this important part of life.

I've work with couples in all developmental stages of relationships, and I focus my work on facilitating honest communication within the relationship. I consider couples work to be one of my specialty areas, and I find couples therapy to be incredibly helpful in fostering better relationships.

FEES AND PAYMENT FOR SERVICES

I charge $250 for a 50-minute therapy session, and $375 for an 80-minute therapy session. I generally recommend 50-minutes sessions for individual clients and 80-minute sessions for couples.  Payment (cash, check, credit/debit card, HSA, mobile deposit) is expected at the time of the session unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

If you have a health insurance plan that covers psychotherapy, it may allow you to see me on an "out-of-network" basis, in which case you should be sure that you understand the deductible, co-pay, and reimbursement policies. (Click on the "FAQ" tab on the top of this page for more information about insurance.)  I suggest that you call the number of the back of your insurance card to find out what your "out-of-network" benefits are prior to beginning treatment.
